Delta Monitor Shower Control Repair

delta monitor parts - shower controlDelta shower controls are one of the most popular fixtures on the market, and have proven very reliable with an excellent warranty, however nothing lasts forever and your Delta Monitor shower control may require the occasional replacement part.

Nearly all plumbing problems with showers are caused by the cartridge and rubber parts inside shower control, but these are easily replaced with only simple tools that most homeowners should have. So if your shower is leaking, squealing, thumping or not producing a solid flow of water, have a look at the control’s cartridge.

Removing A Delta Monitor Cartridge

  2. Remove the shower control’s handle using a screwdriver or allen key(depends on model) to expose the cartridge assembly.
  3. Delta trim sleeve removalRemove the trim sleeve by pulling and twisting.
  4. Using a pair of large jawed pliers, remove the brass retaining nut that holds in the cartridge.
  5. delta monitor cartridgeThe cartridge can now be pulled out and inspected for any visible defects.
  6. Delta monitor springs and seatsInside the valve body there will be little black rubber seats and springs that are often to blame for poor operation. Remove them with a pair of needle nose pliers. These rubber seats and springs are found in many delta products and can be purchased in most plumbing supply stores.
  7. Check all rubber parts (o-rings, seats, gasket) for damage before attempting to replace the cartridge.
  8. If replacement parts are required contact the warranty department or a delta distributor for parts.
